4 TIER DISCOUNT PRESCRIPTION DRUG CARD

In this section the most frequently asked questions and responses will be provided to you to make sure you are fully informed in reference to purchasing the 4 Tier Discount Drug Card being offered to you.

How To Make The 4 Tier Discount Drug Card Work For You?

A card will be issued to the individual signing up. If spouse and/or family coverage are required then the Individual signing up and the second adult will have an ID Card each with the same ID number.  Any children must be listed on the signup form and will be recorded with the adults on the card with the same ID number. (The children will not be printed on the ID card) You will present your Drug Card to the pharmacist with your prescription. 

You will either pay:

     ●    $10 or less, or

         ●    $20 or less, or 

     ●    $50 or less, or 

     ●    receive an average discount of 25% for Brand Drugs    or an average discount of 52% for Generic Drugs.

       When you check for your Drug, and what tier it will fall within, you will notice that your drug name will come up and ALTERNATIVES to your drug will also be available. If an alternative is available you will see what the approximate cost of the alternative will be. In the vast majority of cases this cost will be significantly lower than your current drug prescription. You should check with your physician to see if the lower cost drug prescription will work for you. If it will you will save additional costs for your health care.

  Beyond using the search feature for your prescription, you can also take your prescription to the participating pharmacy and they can tell you exactly what it will cost you and how much the discount will be.

  Question – When I see my drug name and the form it is dispensed in – capsule, liquid, etc. and it is says Pre Packaged – what should I do? When you see that the delivery of your prescription is Pre Packaged – you should be careful and question the pharmacist. Purchasing a Pre Packaged drug is typically much more expensive than the normal, non Pre Packaged delivery of a prescription. You should request a non Pre Packaged drug from the pharmacy.

How Many Drugs Are Covered?

TIER ONE: You Pay $10 or Less -- There are up to 24,000      National Drug Codes (NDC) in this tier.

TIER TWO: You Pay $20 or Less – There are up to 13,000

 National Drug Codes (NDC) in this tier.

TIER THREE: You Pay $50 or less – There are up to 12,000

 National  Drug Codes (NDC) in this tier. 

TIER FOUR:  All other drugs are covered under this tier

 =25% average discount on Brand Drugs or an average

      discount of 53% on Generic Drugs.

NOTE:  Example: $10 or less means if the actual cost of

     the drug is $4.00 you will only pay $4.00.

Am I Subject To Cancellation?

 NO! – As long as you ONLY use your ID Cards for you 

     and your family members. 

Can Coverage For Pre-Existing Conditions Be Refused?

NO! - Once you have applied for the drug card and it has

     been paid for – your coverage will be approved.

How Can I Locate A Participating Pharmacy?

Please click on the following link: Find Participating Pharmacies Near Me - put in your zip code and all pharmacies in your geographic area will be identified.  Pick from any pharmacy on that list to fill your prescriptions.

How Can I Find Out What My Prescriptions Will Cost?

Please click on the following link Go To Prescription Drug Search - you can put the name of your prescription in the search box, you can search by therapeutic class of drug or you can click on the first letter of the prescription drug and then search the list. PLEASE make sure you know the strength of the drug and how it is dispensed in order to make sure you have identified your exact prescription – to determine the cost at the pharmacy. It will tell you what tier the prescription falls in the maximum price you will pay

Is There A Claim Form?

NO!You pay for the discount prescription at the time you fill it at the pharmacy.

 How Do I Pay For The 4 Tier Prescription Discount Drug Card?

You can pay using one of four credit cards: American Express, Visa, Master Card or Discover Card. In addition, if you prefer to pay by money order or check – you can print off the form, complete it, and send the payment in the mail to the address on the form. You will make an annual payment for the Card. Each year your Drug Card will be automatically renewed with proper payment.

Is This Insurance?

NO! – You have to pay the lowest discounted amount for your prescription at the time the prescription is filled.

When Do I Get My Drug Card And When Can I Use It?

Upon acceptance of payment, you will see a notice of acceptance of payment informing you that you will be receiving an email within 4 hours. When you receive your email you will be able to print the Temporary Card. On that email will be your Account Number and Group Number (if applies) which you will need to write on the Temporary Card along with your Name on the lines provided. You can take that card to any participating pharmacy. Your permanent plastic ID Card (s) will be sent to you within 60 days from the day you signed up.

Can I Get A Replacement Drug Card?

YES! You can replace a lost Drug Card - -You will need to go to the following link:Replacement Card   Fill in all requested information and the replacement card will be issued within 14 days from the date the request was received. The cost to replace the drug card is $5.00 and will be charged to your credit card.

Is There An Age Restriction When Using The Drug Card?

YES – ONLY when Children have reached the age of 18.  They will then have to purchase there own Drug Card.

 Can I Use The Drug Card With My Current Insurance?

Typically YES! However please refer to your insurance benefit booklet for your answer. If you have high deductible insurance plans, then you should be not only able to use the Drug Card but it should also save you money. You might find this one area will to provide you with significant savings.

 What Do I Do If I Did Not Get My Temporary Card?
